Practicing a tricky passage until it "feels right" isn't the same as proving it's fixed. Every wrong repetition reinforces the mistake just as strongly as a correct one reinforces the fix — so if a passage took 10 failed attempts before your first success, 5 correct reps afterward isn't enough. The wrong pathway is still stronger. Under pressure, the mistake wins.
Overlearn is a practice tool built on one simple, strict rule: a fix only counts as solidified after enough CONSECUTIVE correct repetitions — and any single mistake resets the streak back to zero.
• Name the passage you're working on and start immediately — no setup screen.
• Every session starts at a floor of 5 correct reps in a row.
• Tap Correct or Incorrect after each repetition.
• Any Incorrect resets your streak to zero AND raises the bar: the harder a passage turns out to be — measured by how often you actually miss it — the more consecutive correct reps it demands before it counts as fixed.
• No undo. That's deliberate: an undo would let you game the streak instead of confronting the miss. Want a clean slate instead? Restart zeroes the whole session on purpose.
• Hit your target streak and the session completes — you've proven the fix with more correct reinforcement than the mistakes it took to find it.
